For The Locals - Memories Charcoal House

Some reviews will be done solo by either Courtney or Ed. Courtney took a trip to Memories Charcoal House located in Mount Airey, Maryland. They have outside seating and the atmosphere was delightful! It feels like a beach restaurant during the summer.

She first ordered the Crispy Brussels Sprouts appetizer drizzled with a balsamic glaze and topped with shaved and grated parmesan cheese. Shaved parmesan cheese is Courtney's favorite form of parmesan on any dish. The balsamic glaze added a small but delicious mix of sweetness with the savory flavor of the parmesan. The sprouts had a fantastic crispy aspect to them but were slightly under salted for Courtney's preference. Overall this appetizer felt light and delicious.

The entrée Courtney tried was their new Chicken Bruschetta Sandwich with grilled chicken, mixed greens, homemade tomato bruschetta, shaved parmesan, and balsamic glaze on a ciabatta bun. The chicken was cooked nicely and again it had the delicious shaved parmesan. It lacked enough tomato bruschetta and balsamic glaze for the size of the bread. The ciabatta tasted fresh and fluffy put it lacked any sort of crispiness or any kind of a toasted feeling. The sandwich has great potential but it is missing something to make it epic.

Memories has a wide variety menu and their atmosphere is lovely. Courtney is excited to come back to try more dishes here with Ed!
