Chain Reviews - Coastal Flats

We took a trip to Coastal Flats in Tysons Corner for dinner to try more dishes! A table appetizer that will please everyone is the community bread basket with Ozzie rolls and Best Buns bread served with honey butter. Simply delicious and $1 of each bread order gets contributed to fight food insecurity in the local community.

Ed ordered the Warm Goat Cheese & Spiced Pecan Salad to come out first. The salad was presented nicely with vibrant colors. The goat cheese was crispy on the outside and creamy in the middle. The pecans were delicious and added even more texture. The overall salad was slightly over dressed and over seasoned bordering on salty which was strange for this kind of salad.

Courtney ordered the Coastal Lobster Roll with roasted corn on the cob and grilled asparagus. The outside of the roll was grilled to the perfect golden brown and had a strong butter flavor. The roll was the beautiful combo of crispy and fluffy. They were not skimpy at all on the lobster meat; it had nice big chunks which was great. The overall lobster salad lacked some flavor compared to other dishes we've tried here. It could of used more seasoning or some lemon flavor to take it up a notch. The corn on the cob had more flavor than the lobster salad in the roll did. We highly recommend ordering the corn as a side on a dish.

The second entree we tried was their special of the day, grilled rockfish. This dish was also presented beautifully. The rockfish was perfectly cooked. It was served with polenta that was seasoned properly and just thick enough to provide a great base for the rockfish. The lightly dressed arugula salad on top provided nice brightness and freshness to the whole dish.

And of course you cannot forget about the best part of a dinner experience... dessert! We ordered the Warm White Chocolate Bread Pudding that has a bourbon custard sauce, vanilla ice cream, and a little caramel in the inside. This dessert is honestly perfect. All we can say about this one is... ORDER IT!
