Delaware Food - Lupo Italian Kitchen

For our second night in Rehoboth Beach, we had a reservation at Lupo Italian Kitchen. They serve fresh pasta made in-house daily and other delicious Italian cuisine. The outside of their Delaware location is an adorable yellow building. We were certainly excited to begin this dining experience.

We started with their Arancini appetizer that are essentially fried risotto balls. The dish includes caramelized onions, pesto alla Siciliana, and pecorino. They were lightly fried and wonderfully crispy on the outside. The inside was creamy, comforting goodness!

Another appetizer we tried was their Marinated Mozzarella that is served with prosciutto, roasted peppers, marinated mushrooms, olives, pine nuts, basil, and balsamic vinaigrette. Every part of this plate was super fresh, full of flavor, and presented beautifully.

Courtney was very excited to try their fresh pasta, so she ordered the Shrimp Alla Pesto Pasta that includes trenne pasta, peas, asparagus, melted leeks, mint, and grana Padano. The pasta was a perfect texture, not too al dente, but also not soggy at all. The pesto flavor was strong and seasoned nicely. The veggies contributed to making the whole pasta dish actually taste pretty light compared to most pastas from other places. Many restaurants make the protein on top an afterthought but the shrimp from here was perfectly cooked. Every single bite from this plate was simply delicious.

Ed tried out their special of the day which was Seafood Cioppino. This dish included rockfish, shrimp, mussels and clams. Seafood Items like this can easily get over cooked. This was absolutely not the case here.  Everything was cooked perfectly including the large portion of rockfish as the base of the dish. Terrific flavor and again beautifully presented. Ed would absolutely order it again!

The last savory dish we tried was their Sauteed Artichoke Hearts with Caesar dressing, lemon, and Maldon. This is the perfect appetizer or side dish that you can eat as much as you would like, and it won't fill you up to the point that you wouldn't enjoy your entree. If you enjoy a lot of seasoning, we recommend adding a little extra salt. The dressing on top does have great flavor and the lemon made it taste very refreshing.

Clearly, they do savory dishes extremely well but now let's take a look at their sweet treats! Their dessert special when we visited was a Vanilla Bean Cheesecake that included an Oreo topping, chocolate drizzle, sweet strawberries, and vanilla bean gelato on the side. This dessert was mouthwateringly good. We certainly would not recommend skipping dessert when you visit here!

This is a type of restaurant that you should break out of your taste buds comfort zone and try one of their delicious authentic Italian dishes. Their chefs certainly know how to combine amazing flavors. Our server was also very friendly and was a fantastic waitress. We will be planning a trip to come back here as soon as possible.
