Delaware Food - Blackwall Hitch
For our first night at Rehoboth Beach we had a reservation at Blackwall Hitch. The ambience in the restaurant was lovely with the perfect beach feel.
We wanted to start this review with Courtney’s entree that was their Caprese Salad with salmon. The dish includes tomatoes, mozzarella, pesto, basil, EVOO, and balsamic.
We have never seen a Caprese presentation like this one and it was awesome. The pesto flavor was strong and tasted very fresh. The salmon was one of the best Courtney has ever had. The edges were deliciously crispy, it beautifully flaked apart when you cut into it, and the seasoning was perfection.
For Ed’s entree he got their Scallop and Shrimp Risotto that includes wild caught shrimp, jumbo scallops, saffron, and citrus beurre blanc. The scallop and shrimp risotto was presented nicely. The seafood was perfectly cooked. The risotto had strong flavor but over cooked. It had a slight mushy texture which can be a turn off if you are picky about texture. The beurre blanc was a nice choice to accompany the dish
Another appetizer we got was their Crab Dip with cheddar, old bay, and naan chips. The Crab dip was delicious. Seasoned great and the right consistency. The Fried Naan was a great device to use for dipping. And the presentation of how the server delivered the dish was quite entertaining!
Our main server was a little slow and reached awkwardly across the table a few times; which was a little weird. The server that delivered the Crab dip, however was super friendly, engaging, and funny! Overall we would absolutely come here again when we visit Rehoboth Beach and would certainly recommend it to others!
