For The Locals - Fantasticks

 Fantasticks is a custom gelato bars and bowl shop located in Gaithersburg, Maryland. We always get excited about stopping here when we're in the Rio Washingtonian Center. We both prefer getting the gelato in a bowl instead of on a stick. They offer classic flavors like mint, cookies and cream, vanilla, etc. But of course we wanted to try flavors we don't see in many other places. 

A flavor they have had available every time we've been there is cherry vanilla. (Ed's favorite) It has a strong vanilla flavor with the macerated cherries swirled around quite nicely. Courtney didn't think she liked cherries but this gelato completely changed her mind. It tastes pretty similar to a cherry Coke. We both recommend giving this one a try. It pairs well with their cookies and cream flavor. 

 

This next one is mostly available in the warmer months... lemon pie gelato! Again it perfectly combines your creamy vanilla craving with a refreshing summer taste. It even has tiny pieces of lemon pie which adds delicious texture. You're going to want a second bowl of this one! This is Courtney's favorite gelato in Maryland.
