Broadway Street in Nashville Tennessee Best Foods Part 2

Our second favorite spot to eat at on Broadway Street was Jason Aldean’s Kitchen + Rooftop Bar owned by Jason Aldean himself! The menu has a wide variety ranging from rich comfort foods, fried foods, and a lighter fare; they have something for everyone!

We started with the country cornbread and honey butter appetizer because how can you not get cornbread while in Nashville? The honey butter was delicious with a little cinnamon favor and not super heavy on straight honey flavor which we liked a lot. It had a perfect sweetness level to it which paired great with the cornbread that had a slight touch of spice. Our biggest critique was that the texture was a little grainy and not super soft.

We were not expecting to see something like this next dish on the menu so we wanted to try it! Grilled chicken topped with tomato relish and a balsamic drizzle. It was paired with shredded brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. This chicken again was above the boring, bland, dry chicken we always picture in our heads from bad restaurants. It was luscious and super juicy; salty quite nicely. The fresh sweetness from the tomato relish plus the balsamic drizzle hit the spot with the salt and seasoning on the chicken. The mashed potatoes were very standard but any mash potato lover would be satisfied. We’ve never seen brussel sprouts served in a shredded form and thought it was a fun change. They actually had a lot of flavor (tasted a little lemony) and lots of seasoning. We love a lot of seasoning! Veggies can get so boring but these were fun to eat!

For dessert we ordered the peach cobbler skillet with vanilla ice cream and the cookie skillet with vanilla ice cream. We really enjoyed the edges of the peach cobbler where it was nice and crispy. The bottom layer was all large slices of peach so you have to really like peaches to eat it. Overall we enjoyed it but it comes with a very tiny amount of ice cream. We recommend ordering extra ice cream that would make the dessert even better! We forgot to get a picture of the cookie skillet but it was our favorite dessert here. The cookie base is pretty thin but served in a way larger pan compared to the cobbler so we thought it was a good amount. It had a toffee crunch and almonds that added phenomenal texture compared to other cookie skillets we've had in the past. Again it is served with a very tiny amount of ice cream and highly recommend ordering extra vanilla ice cream to go on top. Your sweet tooth will be very pleased with these desserts and defiantly tastes like the magic of Nashville!
